I love to travel, play the piano, and take pictures. I also enjoy cooking and painting although the results are sometimes unpredictable. :) I make lists of things that make me happy because there are so many things that do. Ice cream, flip-flops, flowers, candles, and sprinklers are just a few. I also love to meet new people and try new things.
I spent the last nine months living in the Dominican Republic at the "Las Palmas" orphanage. I lived in a home with my 15 sisters ages 15-25. I taught English to 5th - 8th grade as well as Juniors and Seniors in high school. I successfully finished my time there and now find myself back at home and I miss my children more than I could have ever imagined possible. I would quickly jump on a plane and head back at any opportunity and hopefully within the next year I'll make it back for a visit. On this blog you will find quite a few stories from my experience there. However, if you ever want to hear more, I have many more stories and pictures. Please continue to keep everyone there in your prayers. God Bless.
Nepal/Thailand
I suppose my nine months of living in the Dominican Republic ignited a love of missions for me. In three weeks (June 13) I will begin an intense six weeks in Nepal and Thailand. I am excited to finally fulfill my dream of visiting a leper colony as well as another orphanage and a few previously unreached villages. I will be without internet or cell phone for the entire time of the trip so I will not be keeping up this blog. However, I plan to journal and take pictures that I will post once I return in the beginning of August. As always I'd appreciate your prayers. Thanks so much!
